#5, "So, I started this new one"... It's alright to have more than one account. Just don't have *too many* accounts (who needs more than two anyway, in my opinion?).

Creating excessive accounts is a bannable offence, but having a few is alright. But... same rules of cheating apply. Creating accounts to cheat in any way is against the rules and could result in a ban.

#10, "I believe most forum users here simply skip past by my (usually long) messages"... maybe a little TL;DR at the beginning of your forum post would be helpful to those who tend to skip over large chunks of text.

"maybe a little TL;DR at the beginning of your forum post would be helpful to those who tend to skip over large chunks of text"

I'll try that to be less annoying (especially when I write something important), though honestly I don't really care that much about whether people will read - if they will be interested they will, if not then not.
See I actually would like to have the same email for multiple accounts.

I teach chess at public schools, I use this site to have tournaments for my kids. Many of these guys don't have an email address yet. I sign them up and hand them the login info.

Today I am actually tasked with creating 32 accounts for my one class tomarow. Would there be a way to bulk create accounts if a legitamate use is purposed? Maybe by sending a .csv to mods?
You people and your obsession with online identity. I welcome anyone who wants to create multiple accounts.

This place has the option to play anonymously, but, unfortunately, you can't keep a record of your games and have an average rating so people can see at which level you are and give you the opportunity of playing a game with them (ie good luck getting a top player play against you if you're anonymous).

So why don't have multiple accounts, eg. one for each network from which you connect to lichess. There's more reasons besides 'cheating' to have multiple accounts.
#13 You'd have to clear that with their parents first...

I think that bulk account creation would open up many possibilities for malicious users to just create hundreds of accounts, even if they do have a valid reason.

Though, I guess if you have a genuine reason and send a document stating so to the mods (and they approve), you could have multiple accounts.

Before doing so, wouldn't it be better by having a tournament IRL (in real life) rather than on lichess? Would your students just play a few games then never use their account again? In that case, that would use up account names. They could play anonymously (clicking "play with a friend" and sending the link to their friend) and you could record the result with a pen and paper.

Because if this is a tournament that isn't IRL and they can go home... well, chances are that their game could become a tad 'better' than when playing at school...

#14... yeah, true... But ... you know how hard it is to find a nice username on gmail because they're so many accounts?

Having one account with which you play a few games, then creating a new account is pointless and a waste of username that someone else may happen to want to use (regardless as to how unique it is)...

Parents permissions are cleared. Tournaments IRL happen, this is just another element. We use this to track games, analyze and monitor improvement. I have some classes which have been on lichess for about a year now, its really a fantastic tool.

The real value comes when I link my classes together. I teach over 100 kids at 8 schools. linking them together and offering them the ability to practice with others at similar skill levels is really a great thing.

Currently signing them up manually was a pain but really not a huge deal in the scheme of things. I may contact the mods in the future
