who likes the new +500 -500 rating range?

I like it. Previously I had to manually adjust my filter when challenging for players to approx 100 rating points below me and above - now it's done automatically! I agree with a previous comment that I'd like to be able to exclude provisionally rated players.
The flip side to @ConwyCastle #12 is that if I want to play eg. 'over 2000s', now I'd have to adjust every time my rating changes. In that respect it is not more than a lateral move (where I prefer the old system).
NO, i don't like it,,,,,,,why to change something so well done before???
I suppose ideally you'd be able to set absolute or relative ratings - then everyone will be happy :)
If you *only* want to play someone higher rated than yourself on lichess, you're part of the problem.

If you *only* want to play someone higher rated than yourself, you're part of the problem because:

1. it indicates you're scared of losing to a lower or equal player (because it will harm your rating or ego or both)
2. it suggests an incorrect belief that you can only grow by playing higher rated players
3. you can't make a maxim out of this. If everybody wants to play a higher rated player, nobody would be playing. So it is a selfish idea to do so

If I want to play higher rated players, I join a tournament. I'll get lower and equals too, that's the way it is supposed to be.
