In studies, is there a trick to insert text before the first move of a variation?

Currently, I add the text in the parent variation, but this is a bit crude. Lichess also doesn't import such comments, and even if it would, it adds "Lichess on <move>:" to each of these comments, which is ok, but these comments can then not be further edited and I eventually end up with two comments (the imported and that made inside the study), which is not so elegant in my opinion.

If there is no way to do it, may I kindly request this feature? It would be a great improvement.
Go to the starting position and then click the speech bubble below the board and type in there.
@Checkmatealot This works on the start position, but not in variations.

I wonder if you have even read my post, I say "variation" in the title and in the first sentence.

Apologies, I misunderstood what you meant. There is no need to be rude

There is no way to do this. It would be convenient and would preserve the original PGN if imported.

By the way, before importing, if you edit the 'Annotator" tag to have your Lichess account name (put it in double quotes), then you will not end up with the comments being marked as made by Lichess.
@jomega

Thanks for this info. A bit of a hack, but this works. One would guess that Lichess assumes that the uploader is the author, if there is no Annotator tag. Unlucky default setting.

Agreed, it should preserve all valid comments in the PGN.
