why is the symbol for classical a turtle

shouldn't that dude be a tortoise? the rapid symbol is a hare so im thinking its like a tortoise and the hare situation, y'know, aesop n whatnot. but nah thats no tortoise, its got flippers. so whats up with the turtle?
I think it's because it feels disingenuous to use a tortoise for lichess classical games when they're still much shorter than OTB classical games. So there's a compromise with the swifter moving sea turtle.

Or this turtle was just super cute and awesome, one or the other.
Point a, very reasonable. point b, I'm not convinced by - its just shapes arranged to vaguely resemble a turtle, not so cute imo. appreciate the input
