Fat Fritz is not the Only Ripoff and now ChessBase is Getting Sued

Direct violation of open-source licences is one of the worst taboos in software development. I didn't fully appreciate the seriousness of the crime until I myself became an open-source contributor.
Considering open-source authors & contributors are ALREADY not asking for any monetary compensation, trampling on the rights and conditions they do declare is as greedy and bottom-of-the-barrel as it gets. Imagine a multi-million company stealing off a non-profit charity - yeah this is basically that.
This is just straight-up pirating.
StockFish 14, we're counting on you.
I believe the original source code still outplays FF2
Sad to see the chess world affected by these kinds of infringements. On the other hand, the lawsuit and the help of articles like these, serve as amazing opportunities to educate users about software freedom!
A really good news!
Chessbase behave like the Microsoft of the old times.
Hi guys, please don't forget to review Chessbase located in Hamburg on Google!!!!
It will be a challenge to prove source code plagiarism in closed source programs. As the report rightly mentions, this becomes an important lawsuit. It will be keenly followed in the open source community.
