Terrrible Lichess Lag - It’s not me!

Recently I have been experiencing some absolutely horrible lag on Lichess. I know that it is not my internet and it only occurs in one or two games at a time, but it’s really annoying. It affects both players, not just me. Due to the lag, I have received several warnings about “leaving without resigning.” For example, both of us had fine connection in this game: lichess.org/BJHzBC6V/black up until 19. H4. It took 20 seconds to register and lichess said reconnecting. Everything was frozen. Then the same thing happened to my opponent. Everything went back to normal after I flagged and received a warning.

What’s going on??

I just lost a game because the game page specifically disconnected, while I could reach every other Lichess page just fine. Incredibely frustrating! lichess.org/IIG9698lhFhI

The internet is like roads if the only road to lichess is closed or has traffic then you not getting there quickly

also how do you know its affecting your opponent ?

but to put all these claims to rest
we can test your connection
open cmd/termanial/powershell
and do
ping lichess.org -n 100

you want 0 dropped packets and lower latency is better but you rather want a smaller range

My opponent and I both experienced the weird disconnections at the same point in the game. I’ll try what you have offered right now. You may be right.

those others pages were prop saved in cachae hence why they still worked
If you click there you refresh there connection so they are fine

what you should do and #1 should do is refresh every 30secs during your opponents turn or press your name to see your ping and if it moves you fine if not refresh

@NatWill I'm 90 percent sure this is a bug - I also disconnected from a game around the same time, but was able to save the game by going onto the app. I'm pretty sure that this bug is gone, though.

I had 30 seconds and a totally winning position then lichess kicked me out of my game and I lost on time:(

same problem, @BlueOpera . i had internet connection but website was saying "reconnecting" and it says im lost.

It said "reconnecting" for me too
