timing out

i know this has been discussed numerous times, but currently i'm on a radio antenna internet connection (in the middle of nowhere) and sometimes it disconnects for about 1 minute 30 seconds at most. and i keep losing to people (even though i'm ahead in the game) because they claim victory after it shows i "left the game". can't it be more time before they give the option? especially it blitz or bullet, if i time out, then i just lose. but often when i reconnect a minute later, it shows i lost anyway because my opponent claimed victory. what is the point of giving them the option is a 3+2 game? it's not like my opponent has to wait forever like 15+15.
why not give more time? surely i'm not the only one here that disconnects.
@DeadlyGambits, when your internet is bad? Should you play a bullet game?! If in a place with low/bad connection, as @galaxie-500 said he was currently on a radio antenna, try not to play Bullet or other quick time controls (or even no online chess at all!)
i don't play bullet. and no matter the time control, it times out in a minute.

i play blitz and when i disconnect, i usually have enough time to continue playing when it reconnects. but i lose because my opponent claims victory after a minute.

the point is it shouldn't time out so quickly and give the opponent the option to claim victory.

anyway 1 thing i have in mind is to not accept or issue a challenge in the regular queue. what i do is instead challenge friends (like you) or challenge people whom i see issuing challenges in the queue. in this case, i think there's no (automatic) penalty/warning for leaving without resigning. i seem to recall there's no call draw/claim victory in this case too.
