Suggestion how to get 8 piece endgame tablebase

First of all, thank you to Lichess team to get a 7 piece endgame tablebase. I no longer use Lomonosov.

I'm already aware that am 8 piece endgame requires a supercomputer and a considerable amount of time and hard drive space. Just visit: http://tb7.chessok.com/articles/Top8DTM_eng , where they state: "To fully compute them, one will need about 10 PB (10000 TB) of disk space and 50 TB of RAM. Only top 10 supercomputers can solve 8-man problem in 2014. So don't hold your breath expecting new breakthroughs too soon

But I have an idea, if this it's possible. We can use all our computers processing small chunks of data. The original idea is from SETI at home: setiathome.berkeley.edu; after a software is downloaded, this project send small chunks of data which are analysed in our desktop computer and then returned to the server. In this way, anyone of us can help to complete the tablebase without spending a fortune.

Just an open idea to developers.
According to Wiki, SETI@home was not the first using that idea.

"SETI@home was released to the public on May 17, 1999,[5][6][7] making it the third large-scale use of distributed computing over the Internet for research purposes, after Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) was launched in 1996 and distributed.net in 1997" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SETI@home

Honestly though. That "Distributed Computing" thing idea seems to be around for more than 50 years, yet not very popular at all. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_computing

I don't know computer stuff but I'm guessing there has to be good reason for that.

On another note, I want to thank you. Now I know that the TV Series "Silicon Valley" is based on a half century old idea. :D
