Chess variant shrinking here?

I heard someone saying variants were played on Munich chess festival some years ago, but I can't find any evidence for that online. Is it really so?
If someone‘s gonna pay me some bucks I will even love chess960^^

Chess960 used to be played in Mainz (near Frankfurt) until 2010, nowadays there is a strong tournament in Berlin hold once per year.
I would like to suggest that the simplest, least objectionable way to address this issue would be to have, in a little over a week from now, let's say early April, a day where everyone online has to play racing kings.
Some lichess players also play variants on Pychess which also has S-chess. But ideas how to grow the variant community are welcome.
Indeed it is the organisers who are scared of chess960, which should help them actually. As for variants no reason to remove them but personally shogi would be my next choice, I believe white is winning in crazyhouse due to the power of the pieces plus drop and the relatively small size of the board.
Well, at the start of today's daily antichess superblitz 3+0, there are only 3 players; but for the chess superblitz 3+0, there are 11.

Compared with the frequency difference of these arenas, that is already good data for antuchess for arena players!
