Terrrible Lichess Lag - It’s not me!

I've just been disconnected for about one minute, too. And before that, I lost a game approximately five seconds after I had entered my move.

Do you know the root cause of this? Why would someone ddos a chess game site that is free?

Maybe Lichess's servers are overloaded because too many users are sending complaints about lags. ;-) Or Lichess is growing faster than its server capacity, which would be kind of unpleasant. Bullet chess isn't fun when you lose an average of one or two seconds per move due to lags, or get disconnected entirely until the game is over.

Some people attack sites because they can.

There were so many complaints in the forum, I didn't read all responses either. And the page doesn't refresh automatically; while writing my second post, the time behind my first one changed, but the new responses remained invisible until I had submitted my message. I understand that it is very hard to encounter a DOS attack; last year, such an attack caused a complete breakdown some of the German chess federation's systems, and they are still under repair.

It is also happening to me but apparently not to my opponents I can't even move it is taking back my last movements and the saying reconnecting. Lost 4 games already because of this

No way to play a decent game like this
